About KeyCompete

KeyCompete is the answer to this question:

”What Keywords are my Competitors Using?”

KeyCompete is an online keyword research tool that identifies the keywords your competitors are using in their pay-per-click campaigns. KeyCompete also identifies the competition that is bidding on your keywords.

Discovering what keywords your competitors are using may be your best source of competitive advantage in online advertising. Advertisers with larger keyword lists win more traffic at a lower cost per visitor than their competition.

Where do you get your keyword data from?

  3. Brad Davidson on August 20, 2007

    Hi

There seems to be a problem with your paypal processing. Every time I try to subscribe, either by paypal or by credit card I get the message that ‘this session contains invalid data’. I can then not use the same email address to resubscribe.

The one that did work would then not match the security code in paypal despite typing a matching code over 10 times.

I have used over 10 email addresses to try to subscribe to your service

It will then not let me login or resubscribe with that address.

Could you please clear them from your system so that I can try to purchase your product again.

I will try a couple more and see if I have any luck. Exceptionally frustrating!

When I try to contact you via the contact link it tells me that the captcha image is not correct but I am just not that stupid!

    Thanks

    Brad Davidson

I subscribed to this site through the recommendation of Howie Jacobson, author of Adwords For Dummies. Without his endorsement I don’t think I would have. I had a very hard time putting in the credit card I wanted to use - it keep defaulting to my paypal account, and I did not want to use paypal-I finally gave up like a beaten dog. So I let the paypal go through, only to have my status come up as disabled. Next, I spent ten minutes looking for a contact phone number. I do not like that there is only an option to contact through email with your claim that you will get back to me as soon as you can - will that be one hour, one week, or 3 business days-you guys need to be more customer friendly!
    Thanks for listening,
    Kim McGinnis

    Hello

I strongly agreed with “Kim McGinnis” that Keycompete need to be more customer friendly!
and make a big improve of services.

I did email to keycompete support everydays until now 4 days already, but never get any feedback.

I got confirmation that PayPal payment is done and can easy access the site since Sun 16 Mar 08, but until now Thu 20 Mar 08 still can not access the paid version of KeyCompete.

Moreover I did email to every email address of KeyComplete; sales@keycompete.com,
    support@KeyCompete.com,
    tiger@w5.com.

until now still no response from them.
Also, I did try skype both chat & call the same no response from chat, leave message for calling.

Anybody know, the situation of the company. Is it already closed down?

    Thank you & best regards
    Aniwat L.

I emailed Key Compete a month a go (see my note 2 comments above) and still have not heard from them. I cancelled my subscription through PayPal, but I can not find a way to do it on the KeyCompete site - can anybody out there tell me how to cancel on this website? I tried to email them, but since my experience getting in touch this way was so frustrating, I am not hopeful that they will respond-Thanks-Kim

Kim, I was trying out the system and just signed up for a monthly subscription yesterday. When signing up I noticed that via PayPal there was a option concerning continuing a subscription. I was planning on turning off that option if I was not happy with the product.

I have noticed that there is not much in the way of guidance or explanation of reports on this site.

I’m curious what’s the logic behind KeyCompete? Where does the data come from? I’m assuming it does queries to the regular databases like Overture and potentially wordtracker. Is it more unique in that it acquires data from other sources?

Terrible customer service. First signed up for a month to month subscription, then signed up for a yearly subscription through paypal. Pretty cool site gave some dense information. One problem was they didn’t cover all keywords. The worst problem is they do not respond to any emails. ZERO. I had to cancel my month to month through paypal. Then I signed up (and paid for) the annual membership. For some reason the account on the site expired. After I just paid $299?? Probably just a program error??? I sent them 10 emails. Zero response. Do not sign up with this company. The company is a program nothing more. You live and you learn.

I think they just couldn’t quite pull it all together. It started out as a great tool, but I think basically they got outmarketed by the competition.

So, does the competitive data only show through March?

I think I just wasted 300 bucks on this thing. I wish I knew the phone number on my order confirmation was invalid before i purchased.

This data is out of date. Many of the websites that I searched were missing BIG chunks of data.

    5 emails. No response.

Do not sign up with these guys. You are wasting your money.

Even though you pay twice as much at keywordspy.com at least they have reasonably accurate data and they answer their email.
