More Changes for KeyCompete
Comments(6)We have just installed some new changes for KeyCompete subscribers. The first change that you will see is that the home page has changed to make it easier to sign in and sign out of Keycompete. In addition to the home page, Long Tail Reports and Competition Reports are now included with our subscriptions…for free. These reports are not included with 1 Day Trials.
We have also lowered the price of our monthly subscription to $39.00.
If you currently have a monthly subscription with KeyCompete: you will need to cancel your subscription with KeyCompete through your PayPal account. You can then set up a new subscription at the lower price.

Query Costs Explained
Comments(5)As you know, each trial and subscription to KeyCompete is limited to 300 daily queries. Here is the breakdown of costs and how your 300 queries are spent:
- Regular Keyword Search: 1 Query Unit
- Regular Domain Search: 1 Query Unit
- Keyword Export: 5 Query Units
- Domain Export: 5 Query Units
- Advanced Search: 2 Query Units
- Long Tail Report: 10 Query Units
- Competition Report: 10 Query Units
In a real example - if you search KeyCompete for 6 domains and export the results for 2 of them, you will have spent 16 Queries.
Note: the 300 daily queries will reset every day @ 12:00 am CST. If you find that you need more queries per day, you can upgrade your subscription. Click here to view our packages.

What Is Really Included in the KeyCompete Subscription?

Comments(0) Recent questions have arisen surrounding the topic of KeyCompete’s Subscriptions; and what exactly is included in each individual subscription? So, we think that some clarification is necessary.
First and foremost, KeyCompete is the answer to the question “What keywords are my competitors using?”. KeyCompete is an online keyword research tool that identifies the keywords your competitors are using in their pay-per-click campaigns. KeyCompete also identifies the competition that is bidding on your keywords. With KeyCompete, there is no software to download. All of KeyCompete’s search results are delivered in an online format with a web browser. Results are also available for download in Excel format and tab delimited format
On the “Sign Up” page on KeyCompete’s website (http://www.keycompete.com), you find an array of various subscription types; developed to suit each user’s needs. To begin, each subscription includes the following:
- Complete Search Results for Keywords and Domains.
- 300 Daily Queries – keywords or domains.
- 10 Watch Reports for Keywords or Domains.
- Export Capability.
- KeyCompete rating for Keywords and Domains.
- Long Tail Reports
- Competition Reports

From those basic access and abilities, we branch into the Super User subscriptions. The only difference in the Super User subscriptions, is higher # of daily queries and access to more reports.

Updating KC Pricing
I wanted to give you a heads up that we will be changing our pricing for search results downloads. Starting next week, our $5 results will increase to $10.
UK and South Africa Data
We’ve added .uk and .za to our index, so the data should be cycling into the KeyCompete index. I’m guessing that it will take approximately 3 months to get a complete set - so be on the look out.
Automated Queries and Limitations
Last week we implemented a limitation on the number of searches you can perform with KeyCompete. Since then, we have had a few questions that I wanted to address.
For a basic subscription, you will be limited to 300 queries per day. You can purchase additional queries if you like, up to 10,000 queries per day. We have placed the standard limit well above normal usage levels, so it is very unlikely that you will reach this ceiling. Unfortunately we need to prevent some users from abusing KeyCompete. We have had a number of customers use automated robots as well as utilizing username/passwords between many individuals at any one time. If we allow this then the system slows down for everybody else.
Somehow I managed to hit my query limit?
Each keyword search or domain search you perform will cost you 1 query. Each export you perform will cost you 5 queries.
Can I send automated queries to KeyCompete?
You can now. However, you are subject to the query limitations allowed on your user account.
How can I increase the number of queries I can send to KeyCompete?
Upgrade your KeyCompete subscription to one of our Super User packages.
